Handicap Day at Marg Lewis Reserve

Hi CLAC Families,

The cross country season continued down at Coldstream for the Yarra Ranges handicap day.

We had blue skies as we headed to the course but the wind was still cold and the course itself was quite water logged from all the recent rain. The handicap system gave everybody an even chance of finishing first in their age group. A big thank you to the Yarra Ranges team for crunching all the times to give every athlete a chance of victory.

The day turned out to be quite a success for the Croydon athletes. Congratulations to you all, every runner did an outstanding performance as the results show. Many medals coming home around many happy smiling kids. Well done to all, fantastic effort.

Next week is a round off, but for anyone who is interested I can suggest that you come down to Lilydale Lake on Saturday morning for what is called parkrun. It is a 5km timed run and doesn’t cost you anything, you just need to register at www.parkrun.com.au and bring along the barcode. It is an 8am start at the island down from the playground (you can’t miss it they normally get around 120 people)

The next round on august 13th is the annual Cockatoo “Hills Challenge”. More information about this event will be posted shortly.
