Hi CLAC families,

The track and field season has season has started again at Croydon and the weather has been quite kind to us.  It has been brilliant to see so many returning families and helping the newer families feel welcome. There have been many smiles seen around the track, especially from our athletes. Thank you again to everybody in helping to making the mornings work for our athletes and them getting the benefit out of it.

2016/2017 Season Registrations now open

With the Olympics underway and summer season fast approaching we thought we would give you an update on what has been happening in the ‘off season’.  Our cross country athletes have spent many cold mornings running up and down hills, through mud, puddles, rain and cow poo and loved every minute of it (almost!).  We have had athletes compete at Region and State Championships, State Road Relays and Open Days. They have achieved some great results and represented Croydon proudly.

With cross country almost finished, we are looking forward to returning to the track for another great season.  The Committee have been working hard preparing for our opening round on 8 October.  Registrations are now open for the 2016/17 season, and you can register by clicking on the image below. All registrations completed online by the first round will go in the draw for a $100 Rebel Sports gift card.

We are holding an information day at the track on Saturday 10 September from 9am to 11am so if you know anyone interested in joining send them down. The kids can try some events and grab a free sausage while parents can find out all they need to know about CLAC.

Looking forward to a great season.

Handicap Day at Marg Lewis Reserve

Hi CLAC Families,

The cross country season continued down at Coldstream for the Yarra Ranges handicap day.

We had blue skies as we headed to the course but the wind was still cold and the course itself was quite water logged from all the recent rain. The handicap system gave everybody an even chance of finishing first in their age group. A big thank you to the Yarra Ranges team for crunching all the times to give every athlete a chance of victory.

Cross Country

Hello again CLAC families,

Well with the season winding down now just a reminder that this Saturday is handicap day and it is being held at Marg Lewis reserve at Coldstream. Just a reminder that you need to have run at least 5 times this season in your age/distance to be eligible. Warm Ups start at 8.45am.

This week was a big week and what our athletes had been working toward all season. On Saturday it was the State Cross Country Championships and it was held at Cruden Farm at Langwarrin. This historical site brought out the most challenging running conditions. There was icy wind, mud and not to mention cow patties!!

Our Athletes were fantastic and did our club proud. I was honoured to watch outstanding efforts that you all should be extremely delighted with.  Here are the results:
