Member Information

The emphasis at Little Athletics is on participation and skills development.  It’s an ideal first sport for children. The running, jumping and throwing activities help develop balance, flexibility and strength.

With the emphasis on participation and development, athletes are encouraged to compete against their own “personal best” time or distance.  In this way, athletes do not have to focus on winning but on improving their own performances.

All athletes are fostered and are given the opportunity to compete at Regional and State Carnivals (both relays and individual), Centre Open days and Croydon Little Athletics special events.

Uniform

For weekly, region and state level competitions, athletes are required to wear the Little Athletics Croydon Centre uniform.

Little Athletics Croydon Centre Tops

Tops are available in a crop top, singlet or sleeved version, and can be purchased from the centre.  Croydon utilise an online ordering portal for the Centre uniform. Centre tops must have the Coles sponsor patch (provided) sewn onto the front right shoulder strap above the LAVic logo.

Black Shorts

Athletes can either purchase Croydon Centre shorts from the online portal or source their own plain black shorts, preferably without pockets.

Registration Number Patch

Athletes must also wear their barcode numbered registration patch. Without their patch, athletes will not have their results recorded. If your patch is lost or damaged there is a $5 replacement fee.

Parent Participation

Spectating

When not on duty, parents and spectators are able to walk around with their child’s group. However please be mindful of the track and field events underway with the other age groups. This is for athlete and spectator safety, and minimises disruptions to events.

Supervision

For the safety of your children – athletes and non-athletes, please ensure your children are appropriately supervised at all times.

It’s for the family!

Little Athletics is more than fun and fitness. It’s a family movement that promotes family participation. It’s a real chance for the family to do things together regularly.
